Washington Cross - Last CX Race for 2009

Final race of the 2009 cyclocross series was today in Washington, MO. Thanks to Jeff Yielding and the crew from Revolution Cycles for putting on such a great event. My season ended well, with me on the podium once again. Unfortunately I couldn't make it to the top step.

The race was very muddy. You can't tell that from my kit on the podium though. The conditions today were what cyclocross is all about. Mid 40's, with a sloppy/muddy course to power through. Below I am crossing the finishing line to take second on the day. Each picture after this one is from an earlier point in the race, andyou can tell how things got muddier along the way.

Jeff said the course was completely dry when they set it up Saturday...but a thunderstorm came through the area later that day which led to the epic conditions. You can see how the course became even sloppier as you look at each picture. As the temperature rose, the water seemed to seep out of everything.

This was the first picture of the day, as you have seen, we only get muddier from this point on!
